According to today’s decision of the government in Tirana, the agreement aims to create common border crossings between the two countries and develop coordinated procedures for border control, with the aim of facilitating the movement of passengers and goods, as well as strengthening cross-border cooperation.
With the launch of this system, as informed by the Macedonian government these days, the process of establishing this system with the three neighboring countries that are not part of the Schengen zone is completed, bearing in mind that it already works with Serbia and Kosovo.
“This will allow a simpler, faster and safer crossing of the state border, especially in the summer period when the frequency of passengers increases significantly and when in the past citizens often pointed out the long waits at the border crossings,” said the day before yesterday, the spokeswoman of the Government, Venera Llatifi-Azizi.
