
The Ministry of Health called on citizens to exercise caution and follow preventive instructions, in order to preserve public health and prevent complications associated with heat waves.
The Ministry confirmed, in a statement, that children, the elderly, and those with chronic diseases are the groups most at risk during this period Periods of high temperatures.
She stressed the importance of taking a number of measures inside homes, including closing shutters, windows, and curtains on facades exposed to sunlight, while keeping the windows closed as long as the temperature outside is higher than that inside homes.
It also recommended avoiding going out during peak heat hours, and if necessary, it is preferable to choose the early morning or late evening hours, wear light, loose clothing, and stay in shaded places.
The Ministry called for drinking plenty of fluids regularly, avoiding drinks rich in sugar or caffeine, in addition to avoiding physical and sporting activities during periods of extreme heat.
Regarding symptoms that may indicate heatstroke, the Ministry warned of headache, nausea, extreme thirst, high body temperature with redness and dry skin, in addition to mental confusion.
She stressed that if these symptoms appear, rapid intervention must be taken by moving the injured person to a cool place, providing him with fluids, spraying his body with cold water or covering him with a wet cloth, while providing the necessary ventilation.
The Ministry of Health concluded by emphasizing the readiness of various health institutions to deal with any cases related to the heat wave, calling on citizens to adhere to preventive instructions to avoid health risks.
