On June 19, videos circulated on social networks in which young people cruelly abuse a fox cub, filming what was happening on camera. Animal rights activists called on law enforcement agencies to identify the participants and bring them to justice.
The footage shows three young people they mock a wild animal: two take part in what is happening, the third films everything on camera. One of them holds the little fox while the second cuts off its ears with a knife. Everything that happens is accompanied by laughter. In the continuation of the videos, one of the participants demonstrates an already bloody fox cub, holding it by its hind legs.
Abuse of animals was published in as many as six videos. One of them is accompanied by the inscription “Prosto kaifshkn” (probably “Just a thrill”), which suggests that they perceived what was happening as entertainment.

“The unfortunate fox died a painful death at the hands of these… people you can’t call them. We ask the Environmental Protection Committee, law enforcement agencies and all concerned to pay attention. How long will the killing continue? We shouldn’t turn a blind eye to this,” wrote animal rights activistscalling on law enforcement agencies to identify the participants in the bullying and punish them to the fullest extent of the law.
The problem of cruelty to animals remains extremely acute in the country. Just recently, law enforcement agencies brought administrative charges against three young residents of the Farkhor district who filmed themselves abusing a puppy by forcibly putting nasvay into its mouth. After widespread publicity and persistent appeals from animal rights activists, each of them was fined 780 somoni.
