
The Dominica Athletics Association (DAA) Inc. has announced that elections will be held later this month to select Club and School Representatives as part of its governance structure.
According to the association, the elections are scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM and will take place in the Conference Room of the Dominica Olympic Committee.
The DAA stated in a release that nominations officially closed on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 5:00 PM, and a number of eligible candidates were successfully nominated for the available positions.
Four individuals will contest the Club Representative positions. They are Natasha Jervier-Carbon of Aithons Athletics Club, Smith Telemacque of Wesmar Rangers Athletics Club, Caryl Andrew of Aspirers Athletics Club, and Charles Joseph of Striders Athletics Club.
Meanwhile, the School Representative position has already been decided, with Joel Hamilton of Dominica Grammar School being elected unopposed.
The association is encouraging all eligible voting members to attend and participate in the electoral process, describing it as an important exercise that supports the ongoing development and effective governance of athletics in Dominica.
DAA officials noted that active participation by members is vital to ensuring strong representation and continued progress within the sport.
