According to the agreement, the parties will implement joint educational programs. This allows students to receive a diploma from both universities.
This agreement was reached within the framework of the official visit of the Logan University delegation to Uzbekistan on June 8-18.
Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States, the Migration Agency and the management of two universities took part in the event.
The parties discussed the issues of expanding academic cooperation, development of student and faculty exchange, conducting joint scientific research and introducing international educational programs.
“We have achieved long-term strategic cooperation with the higher educational institution of the United States of America. After this memorandum, students studying on the basis of a joint program with Logan University will have the opportunity to obtain two higher education diplomas at the end of the academic year,” said Alfraganus University Rector Azizbek Ismailov.
Cooperation covers education, research, academic exchange, joint publications and new projects. It is noted that Logan University plans to develop medical education programs based on US experience, particularly chiropractic and other health areas, at Alfraganus University.
“At the meeting, we also discussed the joint diploma program. According to it, Alfraganus students will have the opportunity to study offline in St. Louis and online at Logan University. The same conditions will be created for Logan University students,” said Garrett Thompson, Rector of Logan University.
Within the framework of the visit, a new educational building built for the implementation of joint educational programs of the two universities was commissioned. According to Alfraganus University, the building includes modern auditoriums, practical training rooms, educational infrastructure equipped with advanced educational technologies.
“Two months ago, we organized the first meeting in the city of St. Louis, Missouri, USA. A short time later, today we are witnessing the practical results of these dialogues. This project is of particular importance as one of the first cooperations in the field of medical education between the USA and Uzbekistan. Today, medical diplomacy is one of the priorities facing our country. Because through such cooperation, the advanced experience, modern technologies and innovative approaches of the USA can be brought to Uzbekistan. The most important thing is that these agreements, along with bringing the quality of education to a new level, serve to train highly qualified specialists, increase the scientific potential, and further develop the health care system,” says Oqil Ubaidullayev, Advisor on Trade and Investment of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States.
