This partnership is part of the Kingdom’s desire to develop a defense industrial base sovereign and technologically advanced, according to the same source. Harmattan AI specifies that its contribution will be based on three main axes. The first concerns the establishment of production capacities in Morocco for the manufacture of autonomous defense systems. The second concerns the creation, on the national territory, of a research and development center dedicated to artificial intelligence applied to defense systems. Finally, the third component provides for the development of partnerships with Moroccan higher education establishments and the research institutions.
Quoted in the press release, the general director and co-founder of Harmattan AI, Mouad M’Ghari underlines that this partnership illustrates the company’s ability to support States wishing to develop their own defense industrial base: ” THE Morocco has made a strategic choice in favor of strategic autonomy and technological sovereignty, and we are proud to contribute to this ambition. This collaboration constitutes the basis of a long-term partnership with Morocco,” he declared.
