During the workshop activities, the report prepared by the Technical, Financial and Administrative Inspection Sector on the position of the water system in Beni Suef and Minya governorates was presented. Managing the water system in the governorates
Sweilem explained that holding workshops in the governorates aims to evaluate the performance of the departments affiliated with the Ministry, communicate directly with those in charge of managing the water system in the governorates, and identify the challenges facing this system in each governorate. Sweilem praised the efforts of the agencies of the Irrigation Authority, the Mechanical and Electricity Authority, the Central Administration for Water Resources and Irrigation in Beni Suef, and the Central Administration for Water Resources and Irrigation in Minya, and their efforts made to serve the beneficiaries.
Sweilem directed to raise the rates of removing encroachments within the scope of the General Administration for the Protection of the Nile River in Beni Suef Governorate, while continuing field follow-up and taking the necessary legal measures against violators, in a way that contributes to preserving the course of the Nile River and preserving state property. He also directed the rapid completion of the necessary work to resolve the irrigation challenges on the Hariga Canal in Beni Suef and Minya Governorates. He also directed the rapid completion of rehabilitation work on the Hajer Lahoun Canal in Beni Suef Governorate according to the scheduled timetable.
Sweilem also directed the use of previously prepared studies for a number of sites on the bridges of Bahr Youssef, with the aim of ensuring the stability of these bridges and providing safe levels along Bahr Youssef, and to conduct extensive studies of the sites that need this.
Sweilem also inspected the headquarters of the Central Administration for Water Resources and Irrigation in Minya Governorate, and met with the employees of the Irrigation Complex, where he emphasized the need to continue hard work in a team spirit from all employees to achieve the desired goals, serve the beneficiaries, and deliver irrigation water to farmers. He pointed out his keenness to follow up the work system in the various departments of the Ministry, and to constantly communicate with the workers and listen to their demands and proposals in a way that achieves justice, equal opportunities, and the public interest, with continued oversight to assess performance levels and raise work efficiency, directing the provision of needs.
