Today, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the Youth Sector – Chairman of the Technical Committee for Summer Activities and Courses, Abdullah Al-Razhi, and Member of the Supreme Committee for Summer Activities and Courses, Yahya Al-Mahatwari, inspected the progress of the training workshop for first-grade teachers in the city of Dhamar, regarding the skills of the program for teaching reading and writing and proficiency in reading the Holy Qur’an according to the book Al-Qaeda Al-Yamani.

The workshop, organized by the Technical Committee for Summer Activities and Courses, aims to enhance the participants’ abilities and provide them with the necessary experience to develop the skills of male and female students in the early academic stages, and enable them to master the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, understand its words, and write them correctly.

During the visit, in which they were accompanied by the Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate, Tayseer Rawiya, and the Deputy Education Sector Official, Ali Al-Amdi, Al-Wakeel Al-Razhi confirmed that the program represents a qualitative step to address the weakness of reading and writing among students in the first three grades, and to enhance their connection with the Holy Qur’an as a basis for building knowledge and awareness.

He pointed out that the “Al-Qaeda Al-Yamaniyya” program is the result of coordination between the Supreme Committee for Summer Activities and the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, pointing out that its importance lies in its reliance on the Holy Qur’an as an educational curriculum that ensures a qualitative shift in the educational process and the early qualification of students.

Al-Razhi stated that last year’s experience included 26 schools in the governorates and achieved positive, encouraging results, stressing that the program will witness greater expansion during the current academic year, based on a development plan that benefits from the lessons learned and addresses deficiencies.

He stated that training courses for qualifying male and female teachers were launched in several governorates to transfer knowledge and experience to educational staff before the start of the school year, reiterating the keenness of the Supreme Committee, in coordination with the relevant authorities, to support programs that contribute to building an aware and empowered generation, and consolidating authentic Islamic values in the hearts of young people.

In addition, Al-Razhi and Al-Mahatwari inspected the progress of work in the project to restore and maintain the closed gym in the Sports City in Dhamar, funded by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in which the completion rate reached 90 percent.

They heard from the Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate an explanation about the maintenance work, which includes developing the stands, installing audience chairs, replacing damaged ceilings, and maintaining its facilities, and the importance the project represents in stimulating the sports movement and embracing talented people in various games.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports stressed the importance of the project in preserving one of the most prominent sports facilities that was damaged as a result of the aggression, stressing the need to expedite the completion of the remaining work in accordance with the approved specifications and standards.

For his part, the Director of the Youth and Sports Office in Dhamar appreciated the efforts of the leadership of the Ministry and the local authority in supporting and making this vital project a success that serves the sports and youth sector in the governorate.

They were accompanied during the visit by the Director of the Sports City in Dhamar, Muhammad Al-Aush, the Director of Sports Activity in the Youth Office, Ahmed Zaid Majali, and the Director of Cultural Activity, Ahmed Matar.
