“The use of resources was not good enough for us. I should have scored from a dead spot at the beginning and that is what separated the teams tonight,” said KR captain Aron Sigurðarson after a 2:0 loss against the Vikings in the top match of the 11th round of the Best Men’s Football League tonight.
“It’s just difficult to break the Vikings’ team back again. They are routine, disciplined and play well. However, we took over the game in the second half and were unlucky not to score a few times. We just needed to finish the chances,” said Aron about the game.
In the second half, you pressured the Vikings right down to the goal line. However, it was as if there was a blockage when it came to finishing the chances. Was it just one of those games where it wasn’t supposed to be able to put the finishing touches on the chances?
“This is just a difficult team to play against. People say that this is the best team in the country. I say that the two best teams met here and it fell in their favor tonight.
We had so many chances that 9 times out of 10 we would have scored, but tonight was just one of those times that it didn’t work out. But kudos to the Vikings and well done to them.
There is still enough left in this tournament and we will just arrive ready for the next game,” said Aron in an interview with mbl.is.
