This is the football past of the “Greens” with Argentina and the national teams of the American continent – Al-Shorouk Online

They crushed Colombia and Bolivia and came out on top against Mexico, Peru and Brazil

The Algerian fans did not hesitate to restore the football past of the national team with the Argentine national team and the rest of the teams of the two American continents, and this is on the occasion of the inauguration of the 2026 World Cup with a historic match against the world champion Argentina national team, led by the jewel Messi, where many agree on the importance of taking advantage of all the data in order to perform a great match that culminates in achieving a positive result that facilitates the task of entering the competition atmosphere from a good position.

In its football past, the national team has many matches played against the teams of the American continent, at the forefront of which are the teams of the Latin American continent known for its exhibition play and its prominent teams, against the “Greens” competitor in the World Cup, the Argentina team, and the teams of Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, Peru and other teams that the “Greens” have previously faced on official and friendly dates, in addition to teams such as Cuba, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala and Bolivia. Which is the last American team that the “Greens” faced recently, a few days before the start of the World Cup finals in America, where the word came to Petkovic’s sons with a full four. The national team had previously faced several teams belonging to the American continent, led by the Brazilian team, on 4 occasions, and the beginning was in March 1965 at the Zabana Stadium in Oran, and the word returned to Billy’s companions with a clean score, in a match that witnessed a record crowd attendance that filled the stands to the brim. The date with the Brazilian national team was renewed in another friendly match on June 3, 1973, and the “Greens” lost 2-0, before the two teams launched the first official match in the 86 World Cup, where Assad’s teammates played a great match, but in the end they lost by a goal to zero, made by Careca, after a collective defensive error. The last match in which the national team faced its Brazilian counterpart was on August 22, 2007, under the leadership of coach Cavalli, where the national team lost by two goals to nothing.

A friendly match against Argentina that did not disappoint, and a standout against Colombia and Uruguay

In the same context, Algerian football holds important friendly and official matches played by the “Greens” over the past years against American teams, including the Argentine national team with its stars led by Messi, that was on June 5, 2007, under the leadership of French coach Cavalli. The match ended in favor of Argentina with 4 goals against 3, while the “Greens” under Saadane’s supervision won the friendly match against Uruguay, thanks to Jabour’s goal. That was on August 18, 2009 at the 5 July Stadium, and this was in preparation for the rest of the 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign in South Africa. This match coincided with the euphoria of the victory achieved against the Egyptian national team with a complete hat-trick at Chakar Stadium. In the 2010 World Cup, the national team had an exciting match against the United States team led by Saadane, where Saifi’s teammates did what they had to do, but experience made the difference for the opponent, who scored the winning goal in the last moments of official time, while the Algerian fans remained ecstatic about the huge friendly victory achieved a year ago against the strong Colombian team, when the Belmadi boys excelled with a complete hat-trick scored by both Bounedjah and Mahrez (two goals). They also appeared in the Mexico friendly in October 2020, after the match ended with two goals in each goal.

A historic friendly match against Peru and the confrontation with Chile remain in the mind

On the other hand, the national team had previously faced the Chilean national team in the third round of the first round of the 82nd World Cup, and Serbah’s teammates won 3 goals to 2, as the Khalaf squad finished the first half with a 3-0 lead, before conceding two goals in the second stage, which mixed up the accounts and missed an irreplaceable opportunity to pass to the second round in the “Greens’ first official participation in the World Cup finals. Before the Chilean match, the national elements faced the Peruvian team in a friendly match at the July 5 Stadium, amid a record crowd, where the match ended in a draw, one goal each. In May 1974, the July 5 Stadium was scheduled to host a friendly match played by the national team, led by coach Macri, against the Cuban national team, where word came back to the latter with a goal to zero.

It is known that the national team played three consecutive friendly matches this year against teams from the American continent. Last March, they defeated Guatemala with a score of seven, and tied with Uruguay with a score of zero, and this month of June they beat Bolivia by a score of four, a few days after the friendly match they won against the Dutch national team.

The Greens’ matches against the American continent’s teams:
