Employees of the Department of Internal Affairs-1 of the Firdavsi district of Dushanbe revealed the fact of a deliberately false report of a crime. A 26-year-old resident of the capital, Muslikhiddin Goibov, came under suspicion, reports capital department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the department, on June 12, a man contacted the police with a statement that unknown persons allegedly attacked him on Sohili Street in Dushanbe, beat him and stole 8,960 somoni.
However, during the investigation, law enforcement officers determined that there was no attack or theft. It turned out that the applicant lost the specified amount in gambling, and then decided to hide this fact from his parents and misled law enforcement agencies by filing a false statement.
The necessary materials on this fact have been collected. A preliminary investigation is being conducted against the suspect under Article 346 of the Criminal Code of Tajikistan (“Knowingly false denunciation”).
Law enforcement agencies called on citizens to provide only reliable information when contacting the police and to treat submitted applications responsibly.
