The Assembly of the Capital City will finally hold a session on Thursday – June 18, during which they will decide on the appointment of Preokret councilor Srđan Perić to the post of president of the local parliament.
This was confirmed to “Vijesti” after the meetings of the heads of councilor clubs.
As the journalists were told, apart from the appointment of Perić, they will not discuss other topics. That session, they said, will be held from 12 o’clock.
The parties within the ruling majority had several meetings during which they tried to agree on a candidate for the president of the city parliament. Even on June 10, they could not reach an agreement on that issue.
“Vijesti” was unofficially told that the next session will have to be scheduled as soon as possible, in order to discuss important issues for the very functioning of the city.
The head of the club of councilors of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Andrija Klikovac, said that forced administration is harmful for Podgorica. He said that the Europe Now Movement, Democrats and NSD did not attend the meeting, that their absence indicates “that they wanted to implement the plan of forced administration”.
He invited them to come to the meeting and support that model so that Podgorica would not find itself in a crisis.
“I understood that there are justified reasons. I believe that the opposition will support the Turnover Movement model,” said Klikovac.
He said that he would not bid on who would vote how and stressed that there was no need to prejudge on behalf of any political party.
Klikovac said that yesterday and the day before yesterday we had the opportunity to see the contamination of the political scene.
The head of the club of DPS councilors said that he had no information on how many signatories there were for the candidacy of Srđan Perić.
Councilor of the Movement for Podgorica Miloš Krstović said that the collegium was held in technical matters and that the session is on Thursday. He said that PzPG will make a statement about Perić’s candidacy during the session, and that then the public will get answers.
Preokret councilor Srđan Perić said that the SEP had made a public statement, but that the URA Civic Movement had not. He said that there will be 20 signatures “as many as are formally required”.
“I will formally submit my candidacy to the competent parliamentary service tomorrow and the day after tomorrow,” he added.
Perić emphasized that the model was presented without conditioning. He said that “they have another statement of support”.
Responding to the question of the “Vijesti” journalist, whether he sees the appearance of the PzPG representative at the meeting of the heads of council clubs as “indirect support for his candidacy”, Perić says that he sees it as a responsible attitude and attitude.
He said that he has no feedback on how that club will vote.
The meeting was attended by the head of the Democratic People’s Party (DNP), Vladimir Bulatović, who did not want to make statements to the media.
On May 26, Borovinić Bojović resigned from the position of President of the Assembly of the Capital City.
The Podgorica parliament has not been in session since April 16.
