The scariest experience of Simone Biles’ life
US women’s Olympic gymnastics star Simone Biles experienced a serious health crisis that brought her, as she described it, “almost to the brink of death”. “Almost dying was not on my raffle card,” the 29-year-old wrote in an Instagram story late Saturday night.
The seven-time Olympic champion did not reveal what serious health problems she was dealing with, but said it happened last week. “It was the scariest experience of my life,” she described in dramatic words Simone Biles.
The American champion won seven gold medals at the Olympic Games. In 2021, she won bronze on beam in Tokyo despite mental health issues.
After a two-year hiatus, she returned in 2023 with four world titles and three Olympic gold medals in Paris in 2024.
