The deputy for the Pedernales province, Rafael Perezannounced his resignation from the Party Power of the People during a regular session of the Chamber of Deputies.
“This morning we formally deposited, before the organizations of our Fuerza del Pueblo party, our irrevocable resignation to the central committee and as a militant sympathizer of that political organization,” Pérez expressed during his turn in the ordinary session this Wednesday.
According to the legislator, the decision is “most important of his political careera” and was taken after a “deep reflection”.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of that political project and to share experiences with men and women committed to their ideals and the future of the Dominican Republic,” he said.
In that sense, he indicated that his departure from the political entity responds to “a deeply considered conviction” about “the path you must take” to fulfill your functions within your locality.
Apart from being a deputy for the province located in the south of the nation, Pérez also belonged to the central committee of the political group that leads Leonel Fernandezformer president of the Dominican Republic.
