South Korea comes from behind and defeats the Czech Republic 2-1 in Guadalajara, a result that allows it to start its participation in the 2026 World Cup with victory and place itself alongside Mexico at the top of Group A.
The Czech Republic team takes the lead in the second half with a goal from Ladislav Krejčí, who takes advantage of an assist from Vladimír Coufal to open the scoring. However, South Korea reacts and manages to tie the match minutes later thanks to a definition by Hwang In-beom.
The Asian team maintains the pressure and completes the comeback with a goal from Oh Hyeon-gyu, which secures the 2-1 victory at the Akron Stadium in Guadalajara. With the result, South Korea adds its first three points of the tournament and joins Mexico as winner of the first day of Group A.
