The French singer and actor Patrick Bruel has been officially accused of rape by the judiciary. The 67-year-old was also accused of attempted rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment, said the responsible judge in Nanterre near Paris on Wednesday evening. The artist, who is considered a star in France, has been accused of sexual violence by almost two dozen women.
The public prosecutor’s office had also previously requested that Bruel be taken into custody. According to the singer’s lawyer, the judge did not comply with this request. Bruel remains at large under judicial supervision.
The 67-year-old rejects all allegations. He “never forced a woman,” Bruel said on Instagram last month. At the same time, he canceled all concerts planned until September. (APA)
