Martyr Al-Hafiz, June 11, 2026 (SPA) – The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ibrahim Ghali, affirmed today, Thursday, in the eulogy of the member of the National Secretariat and Commander of the First Field Brigade of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army, the heroic martyr, Habib Mohamed Abdel Aziz, who rose in the fields of honor and struggle unplanned, accompanied by two of his companions, that the blood of the martyrs will remain a beacon illuminating the path of the national struggle until complete independence is won.
In an official memorial speech, the President of the Republic highlighted that the coincidence of the ascension of the martyr and his companions with the Sahrawi people’s commemoration of “Martyrs’ Day” carries profound connotations of sacrifice and redemption, noting that the deceased was inspired by the spirit of resistance and steadfastness from the first generation and the immortal leaders of the national cause, foremost of whom is the founding leader, martyr of freedom and dignity, Al-Wali Mustafa Al-Sayyid, and his father, the martyr President Mohamed Abdel Aziz, who remained a persistent mujahid until his last breath, in addition to his mother. The President of the Republic’s memorial speech stated, “The martyr Lahbib Mohamed Abdel Aziz was a patriotic, honest, and loyal young man. He did not hesitate for a moment to join the ranks of the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army, moving from university studies to a distinguished and upscale university, the university of values, morals, and manhood, which creates outstanding men with determination.”
Ibrahim Ghali praised the leadership and fighting qualities of the martyr Lahbib, describing him as an immortal model for the Sahrawi youth who does not recognize the impossible, and recalling his great courage in assuming important tasks and responsibilities in field work and leadership of military areas, following the example of his companion, the martyr Sidi Haidok.
