Damascus, June 11 (SANA) Ministry of Interior’s general directorate of civil affairs announced that it has completed collecting citizenship applications from Syrian Kurds included in Decree No. 13 of 2026 who submitted them during the extension period through the official centers and committees established for this purpose.
The move comes to reflect national awareness, a high sense of responsibility, and positive cooperation with procedures facilitated by the decree.
“Relevant staff and committees have begun their technical and procedural work to review the applications, verify the data, and complete the necessary processing requirements, in preparation for finalizing the citizenship procedures according to established legal principles,” the directorate told SANA in a statement.
It added that from June 14 to June 18, 2026, the Directorate will begin publishing the first group of interview appointments for applicants included in the decree through the Ministry’s official platforms and official media outlets in the relevant governorates.
The Ministry has decided to grant an additional period to the Kurds residing abroad whose applications were submitted by their families, in order to ensure that all beneficiaries have the opportunity to complete their procedures.
