Áslaug Arna Sigurbjörnsdóttir, Member of Parliament for the Independence Party, is moving home from New York, where she has been living for almost a year. Áslaug Arna moved to New York to study at Columbia University, from which she recently graduated.
“I did it. Growing up, I used to hear my mom talk about how transformative that year was when she was a master’s student in the US. After she passed away, I always carried that idea with me. I wanted to follow in her footsteps one day and study abroad. But as my political career progressed, the right time never seemed to come, until last year.”
Due to moving to Iceland again, Áslaug Arna has several items for sale that she needs to get rid of. These include some items from Ikea’s Stockholm line, which was launched last year, such as dining tables and side tables on wheels. Icelanders in New York should therefore be able to make a good purchase.
Ikea’s Stockholm line attracted a lot of attention last year when it was launched. In 1985, or 40 years ago, Ikea debuted its first Stockholm line. Since then, a new line has seen the light of day several times and the products have been considered popular. The wait for a new Stockholm line has begun, but it has been seven years since the last line was launched. It contained things that are considered fashionable in Iceland and also in other parts of the world.
