On Sunday evening, Iran carried out several missile attacks on northern Israel. According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), all missiles fired were successfully intercepted by air defense systems. BBC reports.
Meanwhile, the Iranian military leadership announced its intention to continue strikes.
In a statement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) emphasized that the current operation is only the beginning of a large-scale campaign.
“This is not a one-time action, but the beginning of a week of continuous attacks. Over the next seven days, waves of missiles and drones will be launched around the clock until the enemy ceases their actions,” the IRGC said in a statement.
Tehran also warned that any new attacks on Iranian territory would receive a “harsh and crushing response.”
Iranian officials said Israel “crossed all red lines” by striking Beirut.
Earlier on Sunday, the Israeli side announced an operation against Hezbollah targets in the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital.
In response to the rocket attack, the Chief of the Israeli Army General Staff announced his readiness to deliver a decisive blow to the enemy after receiving the appropriate order. The IDF spokesman also called Iran’s actions a “serious mistake.”
What did Trump say?
The US President told Axios that he intends to urge the Israeli Prime Minister to refrain from retaliatory strikes so as not to jeopardize a possible agreement with Iran.

“He will have no other choice,” the American leader said. – I make the decisions. I make all the decisions. He (Netanyahu) doesn’t make decisions.”
According to Trump, Iran’s missile strikes did not affect the prospects for a potential deal between the parties.
“We’ll see how it all ends,” he said in a conversation with the Financial Times. “This is one of those stories that has been going on for three thousand years or 47 years, depending on where you count from.”
According to Fox News, US President Donald Trump also called on Iran to stop the escalation and resume negotiations.
“Enough. Return to the negotiating table,” said the American leader.
In addition, according to the TV channel, Trump expressed dissatisfaction with the actions of Israel, in particular the strikes on Beirut. According to Fox News, the US President made it clear that he is concerned about the possible escalation of the conflict and its impact on diplomatic efforts in the region.
