On that occasion, in the “National Hero Milovan Šaranović” barracks in Danilovgrad, a review was held of members of the Army of Montenegro who provided support to colleagues from the Police Directorate and other institutions of the intelligence and security sector during the Summit.
“Thank you for taking part in writing an extremely beautiful page of Montenegrin history, because our mother and only motherland, Montenegro, managed to organize the biggest event in its history in such an impressive way. In previous days, Montenegro was the center of Europe, it was the center of key European events and messages. It shone like the most beautiful star on European soil,” said Bečić.
He assessed that Montenegro provided full political, economic, social and touristic affirmation with such an organization and the messages that were heard.
“We act serving the state of Montenegro as one team, nurturing team spirit and togetherness at every step,” said Bečić.
Minister Krapović thanked the members of the Army of Montenegro for the professional and responsible execution of all entrusted tasks during the Summit in Tivat.

“The successful implementation of the European Union – Western Balkans Summit required top-level coordination of all security structures of the state, and the Army of Montenegro once again showed that it is a reliable support of state institutions when it is most needed,” he said.
Krapović emphasized that in the period from June 3 to 6, more than 100 members of the Army were engaged in providing support to the Police Directorate, along with specialized vehicles, vessels and helicopters.
“Members of the Special Purpose Detachment, the Military Police Company, the 1st Infantry Battalion, the Navy, the Air Force, the General Staff and other units of the defense system carried out the complex tasks of airport security, anti-sabotage inspections, land, sea and airspace control, as well as direct support for the protection activities of high-level delegations. All activities were carried out professionally, disciplined and impeccably,” the minister pointed out.
Krapović assessed that the contribution of members of the Army of Montenegro goes beyond the framework of the event itself.
“Your engagement was not only a contribution to the security of an international gathering. It was a contribution to the international reputation of Montenegro. Each professionally performed task was a confirmation that the Army of Montenegro is a modern, capable and reliable institution of the state,” he pointed out.
