Russian border guards have received the right to check personal phones, computers and other electronic devices of every person when crossing the border. This was reported on April 16 in representative office of the Ministry of Labormigration and employment of the population of Tajikistan in Russia.
In case of refusal to unlock the device and check it, according to Article 18.7 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, a citizen may be fined in the amount of 5,000 to 7,000 rubles or subjected to administrative arrest for up to 15 days.
“These measures are aimed at combating extremism and smuggling. Border authorities have the right to check the personal belongings of citizens when crossing the border, and refusal to check may lead to legal consequences,” the representative office explained.
Citizens traveling to the Russian Federation are advised to take these requirements into account to prevent possible difficulties when crossing the border.
Previously, the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population of Tajikistan drew attention to the need to comply with legal requirements, related to registration and placement of children in school in Russia.
After entering this country, each child must be registered with the migration authorities together with their parents within a specified period (up to 15 working days). To do this, you will need the child’s documents (passport or birth certificate), migration card and documents of the parents, as well as confirmation of place of residence. Children are registered at the same address as their parents. If you change your place of residence, you must re-register to avoid fines.
