The California event is one of the biggest and best-known music festivals in the world.
Finnish pop star Käärijä performed as a guest of Dutch musician Joost Klein at the Coachella music festival in the United States on Friday night.
During his frenetic set, Klein introduced Käärijä before the pair performed their song Trafik! — which features Käärijä rapping in Finnish.
“I brought a special guest all the way from Finland. And you know what brah? If you don’t know Dutch, you won’t know Finnish,” Klein joked as he introduced his Finnish colleague.
Käärijä first shot to fame after he was picked to represent Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023. He came in a close second at the competition, and his career has continued to flourish ever since.
Klein nearly represented the Netherlands at Eurovision a couple of years ago, before being disqualified following an incident backstage at the final. Klein also appeared as a guest during Käärijä’s set at the Turku music festival Ruisrock in 2024.
After their energetic Coachella performance, the musicians embraced before Käärijä thanked the audience and left the stage.
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is an annual two-weekend event held in California, and has become one of the biggest and best-known music festivals in the world. A video feed of the festival, including Klein’s set, has been posted on YouTube.
