The prosecutor’s office notes that, according to the investigation, on March 1, the suspect demanded the transfer of an illegal benefit in the amount of $4,000 for assisting in the transfer to his military unit of a serviceman from another unit.
On April 16, while receiving the second part of the illegal profit in the amount of 2,000 US dollars, the colonel was detained by a law enforcement officer “in the heat of the moment”.

At the request of the prosecutor, the court ordered the suspect to be detained in custody with the possibility of bail in the amount of UAH 998,400.
The actions of the suspect are qualified as obtaining an illegal benefit for himself for influencing the decision-making by a person authorized to perform the functions of the state, combined with the demand for such a benefit (Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the investigative department of the National Security Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region, operational support is carried out by the USBU in the Kharkiv region.
