Safety preparations for the Monaco Grand Prix received a significant boost on Friday, May 5 as Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene attended the unveiling of the Monaco Fire Brigade’s new fleet of INEOS emergency response vehicles.
The presentation took place on the sidelines of the 83rd Monaco Grand Prix in the presence of Interior Minister Lionel Beffre, INEOS Automotive CEO Lynn Calder, Senior Commander of the Public Force Colonel Tony Varo, and Monaco Fire Brigade Chief Lieutenant Colonel Maxime Yvrard.
The Princely Couple were introduced to the new INEOS Grenadier 4×4 vehicles, which have been added to the brigade’s operational resources for major motorsport events in the Principality. The vehicles are designed to support firefighting operations, rescue and extrication missions, and emergency response interventions during the Monaco Grand Prix and rally competitions.
The addition of the specialised fleet further strengthens Monaco’s extensive safety infrastructure, which is widely regarded as one of the most comprehensive in international motorsport.
Following the vehicle presentation, the princely couple visited the Monaco Red Cross emergency stations located in Place du Casino. The visit highlighted the work of the hundreds of first responders deployed throughout Grand Prix weekend to ensure the safety of spectators, teams and officials.
This year’s emergency operation brings together nearly 270 personnel from nine national Red Cross societies, reflecting the international cooperation and humanitarian commitment that underpin the event’s medical and rescue services.
The visits underscored Monaco’s continued focus on safety and emergency preparedness during one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events.
