The director of the Jovin high school spent more than a third of the money from the project on his fee: the professors received 850, and the director 12,600 euros for the same job – Society

In the European project that the Jovan Jovanović Zmaj High School in Novi Sad participated together with the high school from Temšvar, out of the 33,000 euros that our school received in total for this project, the director Radivoje Stojković allocated as much as 12,600 euros for his fee.

On the other hand, he only awarded a total of 850 euros to the professors who participated in this project and did the same or greater work. The documentation of this project was submitted to the editorial office of Danas by the professors who were involved in it in 2023 and 2024.

As they point out, practice should be such that everyone gets the same, if they did identical work, which they did in this project.

Nevertheless, the ten professors received only a small part of what they deserved for their work, while more than a third of the total money went to Stojković’s fee.

They add that the director did not appear at the meetings at all, they cannot say whether he did his work or someone else wrote it to him, but he did not comply with the part of the obligations where he was supposed to participate in the meetings and present the work done. He didn’t even show up for meetings that were in an online format.

It is about the European Erasmus project, which was approved by our state for the Jovin high school, and where two schools worked on creating interdisciplinary materials that would be used in teaching and working with students. First of all, the application of mathematics and physics in other sciences.

The project was worth 60,000 euros. Jovina received 33,000 euros, of which 3,500 euros were allocated for the trip to Timisoara, so 29,500 remained for the contracts. The gymnasium in Timisoara received 27,000 euros.

    – Each of the project participants, the professors and the director, wrote their own materials, which they would later present. First to my colleagues in Timisoara. When we went to Romania for the presentation and exchange of experiences, the director did not go with us. When colleagues from Timisoara were here, he was not there either, he just came to greet them. When doing projects like this, the budget should be divided so that everyone gets as much as they worked for. The director here, as the project manager, awarded himself fees almost fifteen times more than us. It went to the School Board, where no one paid attention to those honors and that’s how it ended – said the professor of Jovina Gymnasium, who wanted to remain anonymous.

He explains that the entire project was actually led by a female professor, and that the director remained invisible until the end.

In the first payment for the completed materials in July 2023, the professors received 500 euros each, and Stojković 3,000 euros. In the second tranche of the payment of fees, the professors received even less, 350 euros, and Stojković again 3000 euros.

The awarding of large honorariums did not end there.

Stojković allocated himself 4,000 euros in the first payment, and 2,655 euros in the second, for management duties, although our interlocutor claims that he did not go on trips or welcome colleagues from Romania.

Our interlocutor notes that these are all gross amounts, on which taxes are paid to the state, so that the professors were left with modest funds for this whole job in the end.

    – The director did not even present his results. After completing the material, he should, like us, go through a pilot with the students and then present all those results – continued the professor.

We wrote to the director of Jovina Gymnasium on several occasions. Each time we were promised that they would provide us with the materials and requested answers. In the last conversation, he informed us that he was on sick leave. Soon after, the director was a guest on the regime’s media. We asked him if he had returned from sick leave, but we are still waiting for an answer.

We will publish the director’s answers as soon as they arrive at our address.
