At the request of Kiev, the UN Security Council will convene an emergency session on June 8 in response to Russia’s recent mass attack on Ukraine. As reported “Armenpress”citing Deutsche Welle, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sibiha, announced this.
“The latest wave of Russian strikes is another reminder that Moscow continues to prefer escalation over peace,” he said.
According to a Ukrainian diplomat, continued international pressure on Russia remains the most important factor in restoring respect for the UN Charter and pushing ahead with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s landmark proposal to end the war.
“We thank our partners for their continuous support and contribution in achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
