Strong arguments have developed today in the Parliament between the deputy of Vlora, Pirro Vengu and Sali Berisha. The debate was accompanied by harsh tones regarding the development of the Zvërnec area and the protests of the last few days in Tirana, but in Vlora.
Vengu, deputy of Vlora district, accused the opposition of politicizing the debate and asked for more prudence in dealing with issues related to the country’s economic development.
“Doctor, you can stay for a long time, I suggest you sit down because you will ask for a response very often with me today. It is worth appreciating the fact that we are talking much more than Zvrnec. We have a few days in the Assembly, in the square and online. We live in times where algorithms have definitely entered the square and it is good that we all accept it, this is the reality of the world we live in and a great deal of prudence is required in terms of evaluating the political message and the lectures that it conveys both the situation in Zvrnec and the protests that accompany us all these days”, said Vengu.
The socialist MP also ridiculed the positions of some political opponents, describing them as contradictory in relation to the large investments in Albania.
“I see here that there are some colleagues who have discovered anti-capitalism romanticism in recent days because they consider this protest to be interesting and they want to be a part of it. When until a few days ago we were talking about red carpets that we should add to those who bring 1 billion, 2 billion or more to our country. It is easy in the world of social media to be a politician without an axis. I see here that there are some colleagues who have discovered anti-capitalism romanticism in recent days because they consider that this protests are interesting and they want to be part of them. Until a few days ago we were talking about the red carpet that brought 1 billion or more to our country. It is easy to be a politician without an axis. We are talking more than about the development of this country and the development of this country should be an object of debate. prudence and not at all lynching each other”, said Vengu.
Following the retort with Berisha, Vengu also reacted to the comments that affected his family background.
“Doctor, you have a habit of mentioning tribe and relatives. Let me explain to you that I am definitely proud to be of Suljo descent, I am proud to have a minority mother. I am proud to be a representative of people who had an irreplaceable contribution to the establishment of our Albanian state, even signatories of Independence, if you want. We are tired of hearing you as a shadow from the past that does not leave this session and this Assembly. I thank you for the recommendations you have”, declared Vengu.
At the end of his speech, he emphasized that the citizens of Vlora do not need anyone’s approval to make their decisions.
“And I repeat once again, the people of Vlonia do not ask for your permission and do not need to get permission from you”, concluded Vengu.
