Deir Ezzor, May 29 (SANA) Health Minister Musaab al-Ali has announced the activation of an emergency code in the East Euphrates region, in coordination with the Health Directorates of Deir Ezzor and Raqqa, as part of a joint operations room that includes several ministries to monitor the repercussions of the current situation and strengthen the health response in the area.
Minister al-Ali told SANA on Friday that the relevant directorates have begun transferring medical consumables and essential equipment from relatively stable areas to emergency zones, aiming to ensure the continuity of health services and meet the medical needs of the population.
He noted that there are about 11 ambulances in the East Euphrates region and 12 ambulances in the West Euphrates, distributed across various areas, in addition to the transfer of four kidney dialysis machines to ensure the continuity of dialysis services in the East Euphrates.
The minister pointed out that the main problem is the difficulty of communication between both banks of the river due to damage to the earthen bridges and other bridges that previously linked the two areas, which necessitated greater strengthening of health services in the East Euphrates regions.
He affirmed that health authorities will continue to make all possible efforts to secure and improve medical services, emphasizing the commitment to providing health care to residents in all areas and sparing no effort in this regard.
Earlier on Friday, the Ministry of Health announced the formation of a joint operations room with the Health Directorates of Raqqa and Deir Ezzor, in full coordination with Deir Ezzor Governorate and its executive offices, the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management, Internal Security Forces, and the Arab Red Crescent Society, to monitor the situation on the ground, assess needs, and ensure rapid response to emergencies.
