The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has taken part in a senior officials’ meeting between African countries and South Korea in Seoul, ahead of a ministerial gathering scheduled for 1 June.
According to officials, the Libyan delegation outlined its view on strengthening ties between African nations and South Korea, highlighting the need to build on outcomes from the 2024 Africa–Korea summit.
Discussions focused on cooperation in areas including sustainable development, technology transfer and capacity building, in line with the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
Participants also reviewed a draft joint statement covering potential collaboration in infrastructure, digital development, food security, health, energy and critical minerals.
Libya said these sectors reflect key priorities for African countries, and stressed the importance of supporting regional economic integration, including through the African Continental Free Trade Area.
The delegation also called for expanded cooperation in education, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and scientific research, aimed at strengthening skills and adapting to global changes.
Libya reaffirmed its support for the Africa–Korea partnership, saying it would continue to work with international partners towards development and stability across the continent.
