They are enthusiastic art lovers and travel year in and year out to countless places where they visit art exhibitions and artists in their studios and thus make contacts in this art scene. We’re talking about Francy and Denise Weyrich from Vianden, who had the idea many years ago to organize an annual sculpture exhibition with international participation in the wonderful ambience of the castle that they brought out of their slumber. Anita and Aly Bontemps-Steffen, also enthusiastic art lovers, are at their side for both the organization and the running of the expo.
After a year’s break, it’s that time again: On June 6th, the gates to the park of the aforementioned castle will open, which was first mentioned in 1231 as part of a transfer of goods to the Echternach Abbey (at that time it was called “Chewingen”). Preparations for this open-air sculpture expo have been in full swing for months. Over the past few days, smaller and larger sculptures have been transported to Kewenig Castle to find a place in the beautiful park.
