According to the investigators, the explosion was most likely not aimed at the destruction of Oleg Nevzorov, but rather as a warning about the construction scams with which his name was associated. However, the police classified the crime as “deliberate attempted murder”.

They also knew about Nevzorov’s prosecutions in Ukraine because of projects, such as this one near Varna. Hundreds of citizens of Ukraine were defrauded in the scheme to buy homes and offices, which were then transferred by Nevzorov and people in his circle to third parties. In 2025, the structure of DANS in Varna provided a report to the headquarters in the capital, in which the problems of Nevzorov and the company KUB with the Ukrainian authorities and justice were described in detail. The materials served as the basis for the head of the State Security Service to issue an order banning Nevzorov from visiting Bulgaria for 10 years. Two weeks later, this ban was lifted. This is the first time in the history of the agency. By law, this can only happen in the presence of new circumstances and data that exonerate the sanctioned person.
These decisions were duly reported to the President, the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Why none of them reacted to the strange change is not clear. What could have changed within fifteen days after the list of Nevzorov’s crimes from Ukraine became available? This is very important for Bulgarian citizens to learn. Without this answer, anti-Ukrainian propaganda will continue to pour out and the actions of a mobster ring will be attributed to all Ukrainians, a large number of whom are valiantly defending their homeland against the Russian aggressor on the battlefield.
The mafia has no homeland – it is where there are conditions for corruption – in the power structures. It would be good if Nevzorov was found and forced to answer how he built all 104 buildings. But it is much more important that the Ministry of the Interior and the Prosecutor’s Office seek an account from those representatives of various institutions in our country who issued documents, affixed signatures and seals, so that all this outrage took place.
