PALE – Miloš Parović, a member of the “Nevesinjska Puška” Fiddler Society from Nevesinje, won first place in the individual competition at the Republika Srpska Fiddler Festival in Pale.
In the team competition, the first place was won by the Association of Fiddlers and Epic Poets “Tešan Podrugović” from Gack.
The fiddler festival began with a qualifying audition in which about 60 fiddlers participated, reports Srna.
38 fiddlers made it to the semi-finals, as well as 14 from last year’s festival, who, based on their placement, had the right to participate directly without an audition.
After the final competition in which 20 fiddlers participated last night, the expert jury, chaired by ethnomusicologist Zoran Guja Dražeta, announced the best fiddlers in the individual and team competitions.
The guests of the two-day Festival in the Pale Cultural Center were representatives of fiddling societies from Serbia and Montenegro.
