Although it was speculated for months that the famous couple would organize a lavish three-day wedding in Sicily, they decided, at least the legal part, to do it only with the circle of closest people in complete secrecy.
Music star Dua Lipa (30) and a British actor Callum Turner (36) today said the fateful “yes” in an intimate ceremony at London’s Old Marylebone Town Hall. Exclusive photos are provided by the British Daily Mailand as you can see, the wedding took place without much fanfare with the closest friends and relatives. The wedding ceremony lasted about forty minutes, after which the newlyweds took a taxi in an unknown direction. The bride was in a white elegant costume with a hat by the fashion brand Schiaparelli, while her husband wore a blue Ferragamo suit. The couple opted for a modest wedding, although many expected them to make their day a much grander event.
It is interesting that it has been speculated for months that one of the world’s most famous couples will organize their wedding in Italy, and according to foreign media, they were supposed to gather family and friends for a three-day celebration in Palermo. But before that, it seems that they wanted to have a moment to themselves, away from the public that follows their every move.
Their love story began at the beginning of 2024. They were first linked after the premiere of the series “Masters of the Air”, and soon after they shared photos from Los Angeles that confirmed that there is something more than friendship between them. However, Dua later revealed that they met even earlier through mutual friends and that their story is almost cinematic.
In an interview for the British Vogue she told how they first met in the famous London restaurant The River Café, and a few months later they met again by chance in Los Angeles. Then they discovered that they were both reading the same novel – “Trust” by the American writer Hernán Díaz.
“There was some kind of sign. I thought, ‘Oh, that’s very interesting,'” the singer recalled.
Their relationship quickly became serious. Turner accompanied his sweetheart on part of her Radical Optimism world tour, they traveled together, appeared at film premieres and fashion events, and at the end of last year, engagement rumors began to circulate when the singer began wearing a large diamond ring on her ring finger.
After months of speculation, the music diva officially confirmed that they are engaged in an interview with British Vogue this year.
“Yes, we’re engaged. It’s very exciting,” the singer said then, revealing that Callum had the ring made especially for her after talking to her sister Rina and her closest friends.
Speaking about the future, the star of the album “Radical Optimism” admitted that it was in this relationship that she found what she had been looking for for a long time.
“The thought of growing old together, sharing life and being best friends forever is a really special feeling,” she told Vogue.
Although both are used to living under the magnifying glass of the public, they tried to keep their relationship away from the media from the very beginning. That is why it is not surprising that they decided to celebrate the most important day in their lives in the circle of their closest relatives. Modest, civil, without grandiose ceremonies.
For Dua Lipa this is the first marriage, as well as for Callum Turner. Before him, the singer was kissing a French director Romain Gavras you Anwar Hadidthe younger brother of models Gigi and Bella Hadid, while Turner was in a relationship for years with actress Vanessa Kirby, star of the series “The Crown”.
