Al-Thawra Net | Interview by Nasser Jarada
The Great Battle of Badr occupies a great place in Islamic history, as it represented the first decisive victory for Muslims in the face of the forces of disbelief and tyranny, and established the meanings of steadfastness, faith, and patience in the conscience of the nation. The Battle of Badr represented a strategic shift in the course of the Islamic call, as Muslims moved from the stage of defense to the stage of initiative and confrontation, in a battle immortalized in the Holy Qur’an and called the Day of Criterion; Because it differentiated between truth and falsehood, and established the truth and foundations of the conflict between faith and disbelief.
With the advent of its anniversary, which falls on the seventeenth of the holy month of Ramadan, the nation’s need is renewed to draw inspiration from the lessons and lessons that this historic battle carried, especially in light of the challenges it faces today.
To discuss these implications, and to find out how the nation today can draw inspiration from Badr, lessons of patience and steadfastness in the face of current challenges, he conducted “Al-Thawra Net” An interview with the Vice President of the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance, His Excellency Fouad Naji. Here is the text of the dialogue:
Badr…the beginning of Islamic victories
- At the beginning of this meeting, His Eminence Sheikh Fouad Naji, what does the memory of the Battle of Badr represent in the general Islamic consciousness, and in the conscience of the Yemeni people in particular?
The Great Battle of Badr represents the beginning of victories for the Islamic State during the era of the Messenger, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace. It also represents the Day of Judgment in which God differentiated between truth and falsehood. This battle formed a new stage in the history of the conflict between Islam and disbelief, as the Islamic State transformed from a state of defense to a state of confrontation.
Badr also represented a glimmer of hope for the Islamic nation, as the believers, who were a few, triumphed over the forces of infidelity despite the strength, number, and equipment they possessed. Therefore, the anniversary of the Battle of Badr is an integrated school full of lessons and lessons that the Islamic nation and us, the Yemeni people in particular, should benefit from. The lessons and lessons are lessons and lessons on how to confront the forces of tyranny that benefit us in the same battle, which is an extension of the previous battle.
Faith connotations
- What are the most prominent religious implications embodied by the Battle of Badr?
The Battle of Badr embodied many profound faith connotations, and the Holy Qur’an dealt with it in detail, because of the great educational and faith meanings it carries.
One of the most prominent of these indications is the will of God Almighty to establish truth and abolish falsehood, as God Almighty said (And when God promised you one of the two groups that it was yours and you wished that the thorns It will be yours, and God desires to establish the truth with His words and wipe out the roots of the disbelievers.)
Badr also emphasizes the importance of jihad for the sake of God. If there had been no jihad, Islam would not have maintained its purity and purity throughout history. The nation that needed jihad in the time of the Messenger to advance the word of God is the same today in need of these values in the face of the challenges that confront it. This nation, as it is said, cannot improve the affairs of the end of this nation except by what its beginning was rectified with, and its beginning was rectified by jihad, the Qur’an, and the Messenger, and all of these factors restore the nation’s dignity. The Qur’an exists. Jihad exists, and the heir to the Messenger exists, and he is the divine leader, Mr. Abdul Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, may God protect him, who takes the place of caliphate on behalf of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace, and guides us as the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace, used to guide his companions with the Holy Qur’an.
Divine victory and its causes
• His Eminence, how can we understand the divine victory achieved at Badr?
The victory that was achieved at Badr was not an ordinary military event, but rather it was a divine victory that had its reasons and conditions fulfilled. The Muslims were about 314 fighters, while the number of the polytheists exceeded a thousand fighters. However, victory was achieved for the believers thanks to steadfastness, obedience and patience, as the Holy Qur’an confirmed in the Almighty’s saying: (O you who have believed, when you meet A group: So stand firm and remember Allah often, that you may succeed.)
This victory represented a major transformation in the Arabian Peninsula, as the tribes realized that the Islamic call had become a real force, which reshaped the balance of power at that time.
Educational values learned
• What are the most important educational values that should be remembered when commemorating the anniversary?
One of the most important values that should be remembered is the patience and steadfastness that the Mujahideen demonstrated in the Battle of Badr, as victory was achieved despite the lack of capabilities. A great example of sacrifice and loyalty was also embodied in Badr, especially in the position of the Ansar who declared their full readiness to support the Messenger, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace, and said their immortal saying: “If you wade this sea with us, we will wade into it with you, not a single man of us will be left behind.”
These values represent a practical lesson for the nation on how to remain steadfast in the face of challenges.
The Authority’s role in commemorating the anniversary
- What is the role of the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance in commemorating the Battle of Badr this year?
The General Authority for Endowments and Guidance is keen to commemorate this occasion by organizing awareness-raising events and activities in coordination with the Association of Yemeni Scholars, in addition to mentioning, clarifying, elaborating, elaborating, and explaining in the Friday sermons that were distributed in various mosques of the Republic to shed light on the meanings of the Battle of Badr and its faith lessons.
A message to preachers and guides
• What message do you send to preachers and guides?
Preachers and guides are the most aware of the importance of this historical milestone in the history of Islam, and therefore they have a great responsibility to highlight the lessons and lessons that this battle carries, and to educate society about its importance.
Badr represents an integrated school through which the nation’s awareness can be aroused and the spirit of steadfastness and steadfastness can be strengthened in the face of tyrants and the arrogant in various challenges, especially since it coincides today with the ongoing conflict between America and Zionism on the one hand and free resisting Islam on the other hand. This school is sufficient for us to draw lessons from it and encourage the Yemeni people with it as we prepare for the next round and consolidate through it the incitement to jihad that God Almighty wants as a sign. Faith is one of the conditions for entering Paradise.
Patience…the condition for victory
• What is the importance of patience in achieving victory, as embodied in Badr?
Patience represents a basic condition for achieving victory, and this was clearly demonstrated in the Battle of Badr when God sent tranquility to the believers and strengthened their hearts and feet.
The Holy Qur’an has confirmed this fact by saying: (And be patient. Indeed, Allah is with those who are patient.)
Patience and steadfastness are the path to victory, and whoever loses them may suffer defeat, but whoever adheres to them will have victory, God willing.
Sacrifice and teamwork
• How can society draw inspiration from Badr the concept of sacrifice and teamwork?
The Battle of Badr represents a comprehensive model of sacrifice and teamwork. The Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, embodied the highest meanings of leadership and sacrifice on the battlefield. As God said about him (just as your Lord brought you out of your house in truth) and when he was on the battlefield, as Imam Ali, peace be upon him, said about him, “no one was closer to the enemy than him.”
The role of the Companions and the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, also emerged, who provided great examples of sacrifice and steadfastness. The first martyr in the Battle of Badr from the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, was Ubaidah bin al-Harith bin Abdul Muttalib, may God be pleased with him. Their solidarity and collective work had a great impact in achieving the victory that the Holy Qur’an recorded in letters of light on its brightest pages.
A message to the Yemeni people
- What message do you send to the Yemeni people on the anniversary of Badr?
The anniversary of the Battle of Badr comes as we fight the Battle of Badr Al-Asr, but not between us and the Quraysh, but rather between us and global Zionism, which is represented by the forces of infidelity and tyrants “America and Israel.” It also confirms that victory is possible, regardless of the challenges, and that faith, patience, and steadfastness are the keys to victory.
The nation must draw inspiration from this battle and its great lessons, and trust God’s promise of victory. Just as God gave victory to the Muslims at Badr, He will give victory to the oppressed in Iran and Palestine if they adhere to the values of truth, justice, and steadfastness. God Almighty has confirmed to us in the Qur’an that this conflict is inevitable and that its results are inevitable, that victory is inevitable, that the defeat of the infidels is inevitable, that the destruction of the infidels is inevitable, and that the disgrace and loss of the hypocritical normalizers is inevitable. These are the promises of God, and we are confident. They are reassured by it, confident that it will happen, and believe that it will happen because God Almighty is behind it. Therefore, the Yemeni people must be reassured. Quraish was like America is today. It represents tyranny and tyranny. However, in the month of Ramadan, the conquest of Mecca came, and the Quraysh began searching for safety after they had abused the Muslims and after they had fought rounds of conflict with Islam and its Messenger, which ended in their resounding defeat.
