The “Our Jordan is Paradise” program for domestic tourism achieved wide demand within a month of its launch, recording the participation of about 51,000 people distributed on 1,422 trips and buses, with the participation of 1,422 tourist guides, 117 tourism and travel offices, in addition to 81 restaurants, 63 hotels and tourist camps, while the number of participants who booked directly through their private vehicles reached 445 participants.
The director of the “Our Jordan is Paradise” program, the media spokesman for the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Al-Rifai, said that during the Labor Day holiday, which coincided with the weekend, the program witnessed the participation of about 21,000 people, distributed on 600 buses, in an indication of the great demand for domestic tourism trips during holidays and events.
He stated that the overnight programs in the city of Petra also witnessed a wide turnout during one month, with the participation of about 6,600 participants distributed on 344 buses, and accompanied by 344 tourist guides, which reflects the growing demand for tourism programs and the overnight experience in the Pink City.
Al-Rifai continued, “The northern governorates and the Golden Triangle region (Petra, Wadi Rum, and Aqaba) recorded an increasing demand from participants, and the new destinations that were created, such as Iraq Al-Amir, Umm Al-Ras, and Rehab, witnessed a remarkable turnout, while the rest of the visitors were distributed among a number of tourist destinations in various governorates of the Kingdom, in a clear indication of the diversity of the Jordanian tourism product and its ability to attract different segments.”
The “Our Jordan is Paradise” program, supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, which includes more than 60 tourist destinations in various governorates of the Kingdom, comes within the framework of government efforts aimed at revitalizing the tourism sector and promoting domestic tourism, which contributes to supporting local communities, stimulating economic activity, and highlighting the tourism diversity that the Kingdom abounds with.
The program embodies a comprehensive approach to revitalizing the tourism sector, by involving its various components, including tourism and travel offices, tourist transportation, restaurants, hotels, camps, tour guides, and oriental antique shops, in addition to various local tourism experiences, which reflects positively on expanding the economic impact and promoting local development throughout the Kingdom.
