KUCHING (April 15): A total of 23 tahfiz students were among the recipients of ‘duit raya’ (festive cash aid) during the ‘Ohsem Raya’ gathering organised by Cats FM here.
The students are from Pondok Hidayatul Mubtadi-iin Wa Tahfidzul Quran, which was one of five beneficiaries selected for the festive contribution in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
The other recipients were Sarawak Society of the Disabled, Sarawak Society for the Deaf, Sarawak Society for the Blind, and Persatuan Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Kaum Melanau Sarawak.
The gathering drew about 400 guests, including Deputy Health Minister Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib and Kristal Harta Sdn Bhd managing director Mohd Iskandar Mohd Nawawi.
The event formed part of the radio station’s initiative to strengthen ties with its partners, supporters and listeners, while celebrating the festive season together, and its continued commitment to community engagement and welfare activities in Sarawak.
Cats FM was launched on Aug 8, 1996 as East Malaysia’s first and only private radio station. Wholly owned by Kristal Harta Sdn Bhd, the station operates 24 hours a day from its building along Jalan Bako here.
The station regularly organises community-based programmes and festive gatherings aimed at bringing together listeners, partners and various segments of society.
