VSIP Can Tho announced on Wednesday that its first secondary investor, Bestway Can Tho, is constructing the Bestway Can Tho Sports Technology Factory at the industrial park.
The factory is being built on nearly 28 hectares and will manufacture toys, games, sports equipment, and plastic products.
Once operational, the project is expected to create more than 5,000 jobs, generate annual revenue of around $500 million, and serve both export and domestic markets, contributing to regional economic development.
At a job fair organized earlier by VSIP Can Tho and Can Tho University, Bestway Can Tho announced recruitment needs of around 6,000 positions.
About 12 percent of these are high-skilled roles such as managers, engineers, maintenance technicians, office staff, and production supervisors, while the remainder are for skilled labor.
VSIP Can Tho covers an area of 293.7 hectares with total investment exceeding VND3.7 trillion ($140.6 million).
Key infrastructure components including land leveling, roads, drainage systems, water supply, lighting, telecommunications, and power supply are currently under development at the site with overall progress reaching about 35 percent.
Upon completion, the park is expected to create 20,000-30,000 jobs for local workers and those from neighboring provinces.
