On Sunday night last, Stephen Bennett got home to Curraglass outside Tallow and sat in a bath full of ice to calm burning hips that had flared up over more than 70 high-octane minutes in Ennis earlier in the day.
The following day, meeting up with his father Pat Bennett for a coffee and a debrief, he struggled to sit into the car.
