The Ministry of Health is pleased to announce that construction work has officially commenced on the Sauteurs Health Centre.
Minister for Health Hon. Philip Telesford expressed his joy at seeing the project underway and extended heartfelt thanks to the workers for their dedication. He emphasised that this long-awaited development marks a significant step toward strengthening primary healthcare and improving access for the people of Sauteurs and surrounding communities.
“This is no longer talk; it is boots on the ground, action in real time,” Minister Telesford stated. “The teams have already made progress with demolition works, tackling all 3 buildings simultaneously. In fact, refurbishment of one roof has already begun, showing that progress is truly happening”.
The minister highlighted that the upgrades will provide a more comfortable and accommodating environment for patients, while ensuring that staffing with nurses and doctors aligns with the improved facilities.
“Everything is falling into place right now, and I look forward to the commencement of work on the Grand Bras Health Centre, followed by the St David Health Centre,” he added.
Meanwhile, Minister Telesford appealed to clients for patience and support during the transition. “Services at the Grand Bras Health Centre will be temporarily relocated, and while this may cause some inconvenience, it is all for the greater good. These efforts are part of our commitment to improving the level of care in Grenada’s primary health centres.”
The project is expected to progress steadily, with completion anticipated in the coming months. The ministry remains committed to ensuring that the facility meets the highest standards of care and service delivery.
