Landen Roupp pitched six flawless innings, Willy Adames and Jung Hoo Lee homered and the San Francisco Giants defeated the Orioles of Baltimore 6-3 on Friday night for their third straight victory, their longest streak of the season.
Adames hit a solo home run in the third inning and Lee hit a two-run homer to make it 6-1 in the seventh. The Giants, last in the standings and who came into the game with the fewest home runs in the Major Leagues (five), were about to hit a third home run when Taylor Ward made a spectacular catch off the left field wall to rob Harrison Bader of a home run in the eighth inning.
The season so far has been a rollercoaster for San Francisco, which has endured three- and four-game losing streaks under rookie manager Tony Vitello. However, during their current winning streak, the Giants have outscored their opponents by an overall score of 17-3.
Roupp (2-1) allowed one run and five hits to earn his first win since July 22. The right-hander finished the 2025 season on the disabled list with a left knee contusion.
After Adames hit a run-scoring double to make it 3-0 in the fourth inning, Leody Taveras hit an RBI double in the bottom of the same inning for Baltimore. Taveras started after Tyler O’Neill was ruled out due to illness.
Orioles starter Shane Baz (0-1) allowed three runs and seven hits in five innings. He is winless in three games since signing a five-year contract extension on March 27.
Gunnar Henderson hit a two-run homer for the Orioles, whose three-game winning streak came to an end.
Baltimore Orioles cleanup hitter Pete Alonso left three runners on base and went hitless with two strikeouts, causing his batting average to drop to .176.
