
Moisture and instability associated with a tropical wave are expected to affect the area today. Mostly cloudy skies, with scattered showers and a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms, are likely during the morning. People in areas at risk of flooding, landslides and falling rocks should monitor and exercise caution. A few showers are expected during the afternoon. Breezy to windy conditions are expected to continue.
Moderate to poor air quality is expected from this afternoon into tonight as a significant increase in Saharan dust is forecast. Persons who are sensitive to dust, including those with asthma or other respiratory conditions, should take the necessary precautions. Mariners are advised to carry navigational devices, as visibility is likely to be low.
Sea conditions are expected to remain moderate during the next 24 hours. Waves are forecast to reach around 5 feet along the western coast and up to 8 feet along the eastern coast. A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect. Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to continue exercising caution.
