The citizens of Durrës protested today (May 6) with a mourning march, in memory of the two minors who tragically lost their lives in Sunday’s accident.
Those indignant expressed their revolt about the missing measures and the tolerance that is given to delinquent or problematic drivers, which cause tragedies.
Citizens have gathered near the Durres stadium, from where they started the walk along “Aleksandër Goga” street, with the final destination in front of the Durres City Hall.
Family members of the victims, residents of the Ish Këneta area, as well as friends and peers of the children, as well as members of the opposition parties participated in the protest.
The students were holding placards with touching messages, which read, among other things: “Angels in heaven, they were not numbers, they were children”, “This wound cannot be closed without justice”, “We want justice for the two angels” and “Heaven gained two angels, we lost two innocent smiles”.
Another banner highlights the demand for more safety for children:
“We want a park for children. Children have the right to live, play and grow up safely. When these rights are violated, we stand up and demand justice.”
At the head of the march is a vehicle with a large banner that reads:
“Two minor lives were extinguished, where is the justice”.
