During this summer, passengers departing from Bratislava have the widest selection of flights and holiday destinations in the history of the airport, up to more than 80. For example, new direct flights have been added to Mykonos, Podgorica, French Nice, Larnaca, Albanian Tirana, Italian Lamezia Terme and Palermo, and others. appoints Veronika Demovičová, spokeswoman for MR Štefánik Airport. “It is up to the passengers to choose direct flights to one of the new destinations (for example to resorts in Georgia or Spain), or to prefer traditional direct flights to Antalya, Turkey, or to choose the colder Baltic Sea with flights to Gdansk and others,” she added.
New holiday trends, top beaches and places worth seeing this summer were also discussed during the opening of the summer season in the IQOS Lounge at the Bratislava airport. “For many, the airport is the moment when the vacation really begins. When creating the IQOS Lounge, we wanted to offer adult users of smoke-free products a pleasant place where they can relax and tune in to their journey before departure. That’s why we combined the opening of the summer season with inspiration for vacations, atmosphere and tips for places that will be among the most popular this summer.” says Michal Želinský, director of external relations Philip Morris Slovakia.

The main trend of the season? Mykonos or Montenegro
According to travel influencer Milan Bez Mapa, different holiday moods will be one of the main trends of this season. “Mykonos and Montenegro are two completely different types of vacation. Mykonos is energy, beach bars, sunsets and experiences. Montenegro is calmer, more spontaneous and still manages to pleasantly surprise.” says Milan Bez Mapy.
While Mykonos is recommended for people who want to keep things going, Montenegro highlights the combination of sea, mountains, smaller towns and a quieter atmosphere. “In Mykonos, I also recommend going outside the center, for example to the beaches of Agios Sostis or Paraga. In Montenegro, it’s great to walk the coast from Kotor to Budva to the quieter places in the south. Each of those places works completely differently,” adds.

What are the TOP beaches of 2026 according to Milan Bez Mapa?
Navagio Beach, Zakynthos: Even if you’ve seen it hundreds of times in photos, it still has a wow effect. The turquoise water, steep cliffs and iconic shipwreck simply work in real life.
Elafonissi Beach, Crete: A great place if you want to combine beaches, relaxation and a longer vacation without feeling stereotyped.
Es Trenc Beach, Mallorca: A very clean natural beach without large hotels right by the sea. Despite its popularity, it still maintains a calmer atmosphere.
