Dominica Festivals Coordinator

says preparations for the 2026 World Creole Music Festival are entering a critical phase, with organisers concentrating on the execution of plans for three nights of entertainment.
Speaking at a press briefing on October 8 at the Discover Dominica Authority’s headquarters in Roseau, Guiste said the priority was to deliver an experience at Windsor Park Stadium that meets the expectations of thousands of patrons expected to attend the festival on October 23, 24 and 25.
Guiste noted that the festival’s established reputation brings significant expectations regarding the quality of performances, production
standards, security and overall organisation.
He explained that months of coordination with production companies, technical teams, security agencies, vendors and other service providers are now moving into the practical implementation stage. Installation schedules, equipment deliveries, stage preparations, and sound and lighting arrangements are among the key areas receiving attention, with careful coordination required to accommodate the different technical demands of the artistes scheduled to perform.
Beyond the stage, organisers are also prioritising crowd management, venue access, entry and exit procedures, emergency response, sanitation and vendor operations. Guiste emphasised that the patron experience begins upon arrival at the stadium, making efficient service delivery and the preparedness of personnel essential components of the festival. He said further public updates would provide guidance on venue access, prohibited items and other important arrangements to help patrons prepare for the event safely and comfortably.
This year’s programme features a diverse mix of international, regional and Dominican performers, including Ne-Yo, Maxi Priest, Alkaline,
SkilliBeng, Capleton, Friday and Uncle Waffles, alongside established Creole music acts such as Klass, Tabou Combo and Les Aiglons.
Dominican artistes and bands will also feature prominently throughout the three-night festival. Guiste said the combination of performers
offers audiences an opportunity to experience a wide range of musical genres in one setting, while highlighting the unique atmosphere created when thousands of music lovers gather for live performances.
With just over two weeks remaining before opening night, Guiste encouraged patrons to purchase their tickets early, finalise transportation and accommodation arrangements, and follow official Dominica Festivals channels on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and the organisation’s website, dominicafestivals.com, for updates.
He said the organising team would continue working with relevant agencies and service providers to complete outstanding arrangements and ensure a smooth event. The 2026 World Creole Music Festival will run from October 23 to 25 at Windsor Park Stadium under the anticipation of another major celebration of Creole music and international entertainment.
