The Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Dushanbe reported that certain categories of citizens put on the official wanted list may be exempt from criminal prosecution within the framework of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Amnesty”, adopted on June 16, 2026.
How explained in the capital’s policeaccording to Part 2 of Article 13 of the Law, criminal cases against persons accused of committing crimes of minor and medium gravity, as well as crimes provided for in paragraph “c” of Part 3 of Article 200 (“Illegal trafficking in narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances or their analogues for the purpose of sale”) and paragraph “b” of Part 3 of Article 201 (“Illegal handling of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances or their analogues”) of the Criminal Code are subject to termination without calling them and without obtaining their consent.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that this rule also applies to persons on the official wanted list. After the termination of the criminal case, they are also removed from the wanted list.
In this regard, the capital’s police called on citizens, including persons on the official wanted list, if necessary, to seek additional information via WhatsApp and Telegram at the number: (+992) 018-02-02-02.
Previously, deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (lower house of the Parliament of Tajikistan) reviewed and adopted the law “On Amnesty”dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the country’s state independence. After parliamentary approval, President Emomali Rahmon signed the law on June 16.
