This is his second visit to this country in the last few weeks.
During the US-Israeli war with Iran, V. Zelenskis established closer relations with several states of the Persian Gulf region. He has struck defense deals, including with Riyadh, to share Kyiv’s experience in shooting down drones, gained over four years of fending off Russian attacks.
V. Zelensky announced on social networks that he had a “very productive meeting with the heir to the throne of Saudi Arabia” and published a photo of the meeting between the two in an ornate hall.
He noted that the countries are developing relations in three areas – “export of Ukraine’s security experience and capabilities in the field of air defense”, energy and food security.
During a visit to Saudi Arabia last month, V. Zelensky said that the two sides “reached an important agreement” on air defense.
According to him, the agreement envisages ten years of defense cooperation, including the establishment of joint production lines.
Kyiv has sent dozens of military specialists and drone interceptors to several countries in the region, where they have been used to shoot down incoming Iranian drones.

Saudi Arabia maintains good relations with both Kyiv and Moscow. The country had also organized talks with US officials seeking to end the Russian invasion.
