Villa El Salvador: a parish is robbed twice in a few days and the temple is left without a bell

The Virgin of Guadalupe Parish of Villa Madre del Salvador, located in the district of Villa El Salvadorwas targeted two consecutive robberies in less than a week, leaving significant losses for the religious community.

According to parishioners, the criminals stole musical instruments, gold-plated jewelry, alms money, a security camera and even the main bell of the temple, affecting both religious activities and social support actions carried out by the parish.

The first assault occurred during the early hours of last Tuesday. Security cameras recorded a hooded man who entered the premises after breaking one of the temple’s windows. According to parish representatives, the subject escaped through a window carrying a bag with choir belongings and various liturgical objects.

The stolen items also included gold-plated chains and jewelry, an internal security camera, the choir’s musical instruments and money collected through alms from the faithful.

The National Police began collecting the recordings to fully identify the person responsible.

Far from being an isolated event, the parish was attacked again during the early hours of Thursday. On this occasion, the criminals entered the property again, climbed to the fifth floor of the bell tower and dismantled the main bell of the temple, and then fled without being arrested.

Authorities are investigating whether both robberies were committed by the same criminal organization.
