LBC promotes road safety culture on World Day for Safety
Lao Brewery Company (LBC) organised a series of activities to mark the World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2026, focusing on the theme “Road Safety” to foster a culture of safety within and outside the organisation.
The World Day for Safety and Health at Work has been observed annually on April 28 by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) since 2003. This year marked the 23rd anniversary of raising global awareness for safety at the workplace.

The Carlsberg Group and Lao Brewery Company (LBC) place importance on this day in order to raise awareness and change behaviour to reduce accidents, injuries and fatalities at the workplace and on the road.
This year’s event was held simultaneously at the Lao Brewery plants in Vientiane and Champassak province on April 29. The ceremony in Vientiane was presided over by the Managing Director of LBC, Mr Henrik Juel Andersen, and the company’s management team.
The event was also attended by the Head of the Vientiane Traffic Police Department, Lieutenant Colonel Sangkhom Phommalath, along with business partners, employees and media representatives.

The programme included presentations on the company’s health and safety policies and strategies, and the introduction of Telematics and GPS systems designed to enhance monitoring and driving standards.
Traffic police officers provided essential information on traffic regulations and safe driving practices. Participants engaged in discussions regarding real-life accident cases and lessons learned, and this was followed by an interactive Q&A session.
The CA, CSR and Sustainability Director of the LBC, Mr Sithixay Kettavong, said: “Property can be rebuilt, but a life lost cannot be brought back. Therefore, LBC places the highest priority on the health and safety of our employees. This year, we have partnered with traffic police to provide knowledge and disseminate regulations to ensure our staff strictly follow traffic laws to avoid accidents.”
The National Health and Safety Manager of LBC, Mr Kaen Keovilay, added that these activities were aimed at educating employees, suppliers and stakeholders on safety.
“This year, we chose road safety as our theme because many accidents occur on the road. Having the Head of the Vientiane Traffic Police Department share expertise allows our staff to learn more about road use regulations, which will help protect lives and property,” he said.
The event reflected the commitment of LBC to driving a safety culture within the organisation and society, under the core message: “Going home safely to your family is the most important thing.”
