

The Venezuelan Yorgelis Salazar and the Chilean Rodrigo Rojas won the gold medal this Sunday in the kumite -50 kilos and +84 kilos modalities, respectively, in the Karate 1 Premier League event, held in the Chinese town of Leschan.
Salazar beat the Algerian Cylia Ouikene in the final, which allowed her to add her second gold of the Premier League season, after the one obtained in Rome on March 26, and the eighth in this competition throughout her career, reports the International Karate Federation on its website.
The bronze medalist at the World Championships in Cairo (Egypt) last November, aged 28, currently occupies seventh place in the world ranking in the category.
Rojas, 35 years old and third in the world ranking in his weight, beat Bosnian Anes Bostandzic in the final and won his second gold this year after also winning in Istanbul on January 23.
